This event also marked the fifth consecutive year of the Crane Rice farming season in the Anlung Pring Protected Landscape. It served as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Crane Rice initiative over the past years, encourage continued participation from farmers and stakeholders, address ongoing farming challenges, and strengthen solidarity among the Crane Rice farming community.

The Crane Rice Project is a collaborative initiative by NatureLife Cambodia (NLC) and the Ministry of Environment (MoE). It aims to promote sustainable agriculture, protect habitats, provide safe food sources for the Sarus Crane, and improve the livelihoods of local communities. In last five years number crane rice farmers was increased from 40 households to 142 households and the size of crane rice fields was increased from 40 hectares to 188 hectares.
