Over $3,500 generated and $75 contributed to CPA through Tonle Fish

Tonle Sap Conservation Community-based Enterprise has generated USD 3,586 in income and contributed USD 75.67 to support natural resource conservation activities for Tuol Neang Sav Plov Luong Community Protected Area (CPA) over the past four months through Tonle Fish production.
Tonle Fish is a biodiversity-friendly smoked fish product processed by a women’s group from the Tuol Neang Sav Plov Luong Community Protected Area, located within the Stung Sen Ramsar Site in Phat Sanday Commune, Kampong Svay District, Kampong Thom Province. With financial support from the GEF SGP UNDP, Oxfam in Cambodia and Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund, the CPA has expanded Tonle Fish Initiative by increasing membership and production and organizing themselves into Tonle Sap Conservation Community-based Enterprise.

Over the past four months (October 2025 – January 2026), the Tonle Fish community enterprise achieved significant results, including:
• Total smoked fish produced and sold: 5,813 pieces
• Production increased by 44.8% compared to early 2025 (4,014 pieces)
• Total sales revenue: USD 3,586
• Total profit: USD 1,513.87
• Contribution to CPA: USD 75.67
Under the conservation and hygiene principles of Tonle Fish production, the community-based enterprise continues to strictly follow the 9 key criteria to help ensure product quality while reducing impacts on biodiversity and natural resources in the area.
Through Tonle Fish Initiative, Toul Neang Sav Plov Loung CPA will continue to promote value-added livelihoods, empower women, increase product value, and support biodiversity conservation in the Tonle Sap Lake ecosystem.
