REDD+ Project Helps providing vaccination for buffalo and cows at Roya village

REDD + Lomphat Wildlife Sanctuary, implemented by Natural Life Cambodia, organized a free vaccination program of Haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) and Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) for buffalo and cows in Roya village, Roya commune, Koh Nhek district, Mondulkiri province, in collaboration with the veterinary doctor of the Koh Nhek district agriculture officer, village, communes authorities and community members.
The program vaccinated 59 families, vaccinating a total of 348 animals, including 301 cows and 47 buffaloes. The program contributes to protecting animal health, preventing and reducing the risk of Haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) and Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD), as well as reducing people’s spending on veterinary care, which is an important source of family income.

During the implementation of the program, the people actively participated and expressed their satisfaction with the attention of REDD + Lomphat Wildlife Sanctuary, which continued to support the community’s livelihood development activities.
At the same time, the village-commune authorities and the people expressed their deep gratitude to the NatureLife Cambodia for facilitating and supporting the effective implementation of this program. The vaccination also protects animal health, reduces economic losses to families and contributes to improving the lives of people in the community.

Overall, the vaccination program of Haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) and Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in Roya Village went smoothly and received good cooperation from local authorities, REDD + stakeholders and residents, as well as contributed significantly to the promotion of animal health and sustainable community development.
