A new Trapeang has been successfully restored

By: Him Khunny

This trapaeng will serve as a vital resource for conservation initiatives, providing a reliable water supply and habitat for wildlife especially Sarus Crane and Giant Ibis during the dry season, the most challenging period for wildlife survival.

This restoration activity was made possible through the cooperation of THAGO AGRI, an economic land concession company who got license to plant yellow banana. The company voluntarily granted 25 hectares of its leasing land for environmental protection and natural resource conservation.

The Trapaeng restoration is one of several activities outlined in a five-year management plan for this set aside area. This plan is designed to safeguard and rehabilitate natural resources through measures, including habitat protection, ecosystem restoration, law enforcement, wildlife monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. Thanks Oxfam Fair For All for financial support this activity.
