The Lomphat REDD+ Project contributes to improving basic infrastructure in the protected area

By Vorn Kongkear

Implemented by NatureLife Cambodia, the Lomphat REDD+ project provided financial support to repair and renovate an old building at the Lomphat Wildlife Sanctuary headquarters in Ratanakiri Province, transforming it into a kitchen and dining hall.

Completed in early January 2026, this new facility significantly enhances the well-being and working conditions of rangers, who play a critical role in managing and protecting the forest. The kitchen and dining hall can also accommodate large groups of visitors and serve as a venue for meetings and training when needed.

The REDD+ project not only supports forest and wildlife protection but also improves the welfare of frontline rangers.
