Study to understand the socio-economic, livelihood, and occupation aspects of the Lomphat Wildlife Sanctuary sustainability

NatureLife Cambodia has been actively implementing a Socio-Economic Survey (SES) with local communities and stakeholders around Lomphat Wildlife Sanctuary.

What is the main purpose of this survey?

This study is an important part of the Lomphat Wildlife Sanctuary (LWS-REDD+) project’s activities to meet the Climate, Community and Biodiversity (CCB) Standards. The data obtained will help us:

1. Gain a better understanding of the livelihoods and needs of the community.

2. Assess the relationship between development and conservation of natural resources.

3. Prepare a work plan to ensure that the project provides benefits to indigenous peoples, local communities, and the environment.

To date, approximately 60–70% of the data collection has been successfully completed across all target villages and communes, including relevant sectors within and around the protected area.

We would like to express our deep gratitude to the local authorities, members, communities, indigenous peoples, and all partners who provided valuable information and a warm welcome.

Together for conservation and sustainable development!
