Organic rice certification was provide to 134 farmers in Lomphat REDD+ project

With financial support from the Lomphat REDD+ Project and Oxfam in Cambodia, during the 2025 harvest season, 134 out of 367 target farmers from six villages within the Lomphat REDD+ project area obtained organic certification for their rice. Together, they sold a total of 287.77 tons of rice to the IBIS Rice Company.

Despite a significant drop in market rice prices, IBIS Rice farmers still received 50–60% higher prices than the local market rate (1,140–1,500 Riels per kilogram). This premium was possible because farmers strictly followed IBIS Rice principles, which prohibit the use of chemical inputs and involvement in any crimes against natural resources.
The Lomphat REDD+ Project therefore contributes not only forest and wildlife protection but also to improving local livelihoods.
